HISTORICAL SETTING: American Neutrality
As Germany and Japan expanded in their respective regions, America stayed isolated from violent global conflicts. America was weary from WWI, so Congress created the Neutrality Acts, enforced from 31 August 1935 until November 1939. It prevented United States (U.S.) citizens from becoming involved with any belligerent nations.
